Soft breezes, beautiful sunsets, quiet days of fishing.....these are just some of the benefits of staying at the John Gurney Park campground. Nestled in the northeast corner of the city limits, John Gurney Park nestled along the east shore of Hart Lake not far from Silver Lake Recreational Area Sand Dunes and Lake Michigan. The trailhead for the Hart-Montague Rail State Park starts you can enjoy bicycling, hiking, basketball, tennis, baseball, picnicking an dmore at John Gurney Park. Our historical Park Pavilion has been brought back to life and features a beautiful Book Nook, old fashioned popcorn machine, and lots of indoor picnic tables for games and events. 2012 is the 100th Anniversary of John Gunrey Park. The full time JGP Managers are Phyllis and Paul Whitney. The reservation line from November through March is 231-873-5715. From April through October you may call the managers at the park offices directly at 231-873-4959.
